That... is actually a good question. Because he doesn't control it himself at all initially, like never makes an effort. It's like a sixth sense that he just picks up that the feelings are there. The only part he controls is if he's close to someone, mentally or physically, then he can try to put in a bit of effort to sense who it's towards.

So, the attempt part can probably be blocked out with no problem at all, but he might still pick up on wisps of the feelings in general? just with no idea where they're directed.

The only positive fact would be that they are not directed at him because he can't pick those up.
