SKAIA & THE BATTLEFIELD

Above The Medium, beyond The Seven Gates, residing at the core of The Incipisphere is a place known as Skaia. Legend holds that Skaia exists as a dormant crucible of unlimited creative potential. Needless to say, where a realm of such profound importance is concerned, forces of light will forever be charged with its defense, while forces of darkness will just as persistently covet its destruction!

And as it so happens, at the center of this realm whose fate is in question, these very forces duel on a stage, stuck in eternal stalemate.

DERSE

DERSE, also known as the Kingdom of Darkness is one of the two kingdoms in the INCIPISPHERE, located beyond The Veil of asteroid that surround the Medium. DERSE wages an unending war against the Light Kingdom, PROSPIT, striving for the destruction of SKAIA. DERSE has always been destined to defeat PROSPIT, forcing the players to kill the Black King on their own to prevent SKAIA from being destroyed.

THE DERSITE NPCS

Aside from the generic DERSITES that inhabit the planet, there are several NPCs of note.

THE BLACK QUEEN & KING are the rulers of DERSE. The QUEEN has a Ring of Orbs (one for each player in the session) representing the spires on DERSE. As long as she wears her ring, she is physically affected by the prototyping of each player's KERNELSPRITE. She resides within the halls of DERSE, overseeing administrative and political duties.

The KING possesses a scepter with orbs around its larger end, like the QUEEN'S ring, and a large orb that resembles SKAIA on top. He is also affected by the players' prototyping, and his physical size also increases significantly with each prototyping. He resides on the BATTLEFIELD and wages war against the WHITE KING.

JACK NOIR is an AGENT of DERSE who appears in every session of SCRIB. He oversees various
affairs of the kingdom and does all of the most important and most tedious paperwork, and is the direct subordinate of the KING and QUEEN.

The COURTYARD DROLL is an especially sneaky AGENT of DERSE under the command of both JACK NOIR & the DRACONIAN DIGNITARY.

The HEGEMONIC BRUTE is an agent of DERSE who appears in every session of SCRIB. He is one of JACK NOIR'S "burliest AGENTS".

The DRACONIAN DIGNITARY is an agent of DERSE who appears in every session of SCRIB. He works under and with JACK NOIR and is also under the command of the KING and QUEEN.

DERSE DREAMERS

Those who dream on DERSE are viewed generally more as "team mascots"; they are received generally very well and a regular DERSITE will be more inclined to help them. Although they consider the DREAMERS to be their allies, THE ULTIMATE GOAL will eventually put the DREAMERS at odds with the residents of DERSE, who covet SKAIA'S destruction.

DREAMERS (who dwell on DERSE'S moon), unlike the residents of DERSE, have the ability to fly at will once they awaken. They initially reside within a room atop a TOWER, and when they have successfully PROTOTYPED their KERNELSPRITE it will light up.

THE FURTHEST RING

The FURTHEST RING is an infinite space that exists outside any universe. Despite the fact that there is only one FURTHEST RING it is often listed as the outside of every INCIPISPHERE, containing the orbit of Derse and separated from The Medium by The Veil.

Temporal and spatial factors are far less than constant in the Furthest Ring due to it existing beyond any universe and therefore never having the space-time principles solidified; the deeper into the Ring one would get from their session, the less stable time is, and as one spends more and more time in its dark reaches, space becomes less reliable as well.

It is home to the NOBLE CIRCLE OF HORRORTERRORS.

THE NOBLE CIRCLE OF HORRORTERRORS

The members of the circle lead the mysterious eldritch creatures that reside in the FURTHEST RING. These mysterious creatures seem to be getting massacred by an unknown source, causing them to reach out to the players.

When a player awakens on DERSE they whisper to the dreamers. At first it will seem to be only vague incoherent murmurs that give one an eerie feeling, but should one choose to acknowledge and accept their presence they will find themselves able to hear their VOICES. Generally one must be contacted by the HORRORTERRORS and cannot reach out to them unless spoken to first.

PROSPIT

PROSPIT, also known as the Kingdom of Light is one of the two kingdoms in the INCIPISPHERE, located in SKAIA'S orbit. PROSPIT defends against an unending assault the Dark Kingdom, DERSE, striving for the destruction of SKAIA. It is inevitable that eventually PROSPIT will lose & the BLACK KING must be defeated.

THE PROSPITIAN NPCS

There are three main PROSPITIAN NPCs that stand out from the rest of the general populace.

THE WHITE QUEEN & KING are the rulers of PROSPIT. The QUEEN has a Ring of Orbs (one for each player in the session) representing the spires on PROSPIT. As long as she wears her ring, she is physically affected by the prototyping of each player's KERNELSPRITE. She resides within the halls of PROSPIT, overseeing administrative and political duties.

The KING possesses a scepter with orbs around its larger end, like the QUEEN'S ring, and a large orb that resembles SKAIA on top. He is also affected by the players' prototyping, and his physical size also increases significantly with each prototyping. He resides on the BATTLEFIELD and defends SKAIA against the BLACK KING.

The PARCEL MISTRESS is sworn to delivering letters.

PROSPIT DREAMERS

The DREAMERS of PROSPIT reside within rooms atop towers on PROSPIT'S MOON at it orbits SKAIA. They are seen benevolently at heroes and are dearly loved by the general populace. Often they will go out of their way to help and assist players.

Once awake DREAMERS have the ability to fly and are able to witness a phenomenon specific to SKAIA: CLOUD VISIONS.

When a player visits PROSPIT as their Dream Self, sometimes PROSPIT'S moon eclipses the clouds of SKAIA. These clouds float by the player's dream tower and portray glimpses of the past, present, and future to him or her. These clouds are also visible on the planet itself. They are capable of showing virtually anything, even things from other INCIPISPHERES.

PLAYER PLANETS

Alongside SKAIA, DERSE, and PROSPIT, the INCIPISPHERE is home to numerous planets belonging to the game's players. Every player has their own unique planet and their own unique PLAYER QUEST to attend to while adventuring on their planets. Individual players' planets are further detailed below.

PLANETS: KIDS SESSION

THE LAND OF GEARS AND CLOUDS: Planet belonging to Cheriour Leclair, the Knight of Rage. A barren land comprised of cliffs and valleys where large brown gears jut out of the ground, turning slowly as layers of low-hanging white fluffy clouds float around them. Underneath the ground there are catacombs filled with machinery that burst out jets of hot steam from time to time- it is suggested that this planet is nothing but mechanical on the inside, right down to its core. The sky is bright blue, and the weather is pretty normal- however, there are the occasional large and highly dangerous thunderstorms that occur when too many of the clouds gather in one place.

THE LAND OF CHAINS AND DESCENT: Planet belonging to Donovan Arcans, the Heir of Blood.

THE LAND OF DUSK AND FROGS: Planet belonging to Chrysi Maymont, the Seer of Space.

THE LAND OF RIFTS AND ECHOES: Planet belonging to Ria & Ira Pololanik, the Rogue & Thief of Time. A fairly calm land, full of canyons and fissures and caves with lots of historical/prehistoric stuff dumped in it from fossils to ruins of churches, castles, skyscrapers to pyramids or paintings on cave walls. If you look long and close enough, you'll find remnants of any and all civilizations that have been, are, and could have been, and remains of just about any creature that leaves anything behind. The sky is always overcast, but the light generally remains the same. Fun fact though: with every player that reaches godtier, a light source like a sun will form in its sky, though this will make it neither brighter nor hotter, it's really only to declare that the possibility has taken shape into a reality. There are no strong winds or really any kind of weather here. It's dry, and cool.

THE LAND OF SECRET AND CIRCUIT: Planet belonging to Faye Argent, the Sylph of Mind.

THE LAND OF REFLECTION AND LANTERNS: Planet belonging to Eric Langton, the Mage of Light.

THE LAND OF SCIENCE AND CANYONS: Planet belonging to Lily White, the Maid of Heart.

THE LAND OF PEAKS AND SHADOWS: Planet belonging to Shea Lister, the Witch of Void.

THE LAND OF BRIDGES AND WARMTH: Planet belonging to Wess Cannon, the Page of Hope. LoBaW isn't particularly warm as the name suggests. It also isn't particularly cold either. The warmth is an impression given by the deep orange glow that comes from far below the broken bridges, bright and welcoming. Wess probably won't bother to figure out the source of the glow, but it comes from hundreds of thousands of firefly lit Chinese lantern seeds, scattered below the bridges. The sky is forever orange and dark, as if stuck at a point where the sun has never completely set—which is rather weird considering there's no sun. Besides the orange, most of LoBaW is green and lush, a planet-wide forest full of deciduous trees and plants. There are several large lakes scattered about the planet. The terrain is relatively uneven, sometimes steeply so, and caution should be taken when trekking through this planet.

PLANETS: ALPHA SESSION

THE LAND OF MOSS AND WILDERNESS: Planet belonging to Kaprao Ocimum, the Mage of Life.

THE LAND OF CLIFFS AND CONCRETE: Planet belonging to Lyndis Nivali, the Rogue of Time. LOCAC is hardly welcoming, being a barren desert broken up only by ruined buildings and jagged cliffs leading to equally barren plateaus - all of which are being constantly and thoroughly bleached by a vicious, unsetting sun. Needless to say, this searingly bright landscape is the endless delight of all nocturnal trolls...but at least this sun doesn't cause active damage to any troll out in it. Shade is a precious commodity, and is only to be found inside the desolate hives - many of which seem structurally unsound, so as shelter they're a calculated risk - or in the many recessed caves riddling the cliff faces. The LOCAC consorts aren't much more pleasant than the landscape, being troll-sized and (perhaps understandably) surly cockroaches who hide in the shady cliff crevices and ruined structures of the planet. They speak of little beyond swearing at the harsh sun and complaining about how the Rogue of their prophecies has yet to appear. It's said among the consorts that the Rogue will be the one to bring the night to LOCAC - to extinguish the brutal daylight his land is cursed with and usher in an endless night of cockroach partying. The LOCAC consorts seem both generally sharper of wit and far less worshipful of players (their own included) than most, possibly as a racial trait. It's likely they'll be more amenable should Lyn complete his planet's quest. The only water or vegetation that exists on the entire planet is, like everything else of note, hidden away from the vicious sun in the ruins or the caves. The caves have moss and occasional pools, whereas the ruins tend to have a few actual plants along with small pools. The pools in the buildings breed dragonflies in baffling amounts and brilliant colors - really the only colorful things in LOCAC.

THE LAND OF FERNS AND FLOW: Planet belonging to Phylus Inatta, the Heir of Hope. The first thing to notice about LOFAF is that there are absolutely no ferns to be seen...not even a decent amount of foliage. Instead, marble cliffs and flat land stretch for miles, interspersed frequently by golden rivers and waterfalls. If the ferns were there, it would make a lovely forest. Phylus's hive, as a cave-like hive, is situated underground in a large cavern, from which there is no reasonable exit. To escape, you must build and jump through the gates, which takes you to various places around the wildlife and to neighboring planets. The consorts of LOFAF are Carolina Anole Lizards. They are constantly claiming that the SEEDS are planted. The Dreaming One just has to come along and BELIEVE in them. . . but of course, they claim, he'll never come. Until he comes, the planet will be barren forever. And to be The Dreaming One would require impossible amounts of HOPE...

THE LAND OF SKULLS AND RUST: Planet belonging to Avispa Kusbir, the Thief of Doom. LOSAR is comprised primarily of a post-apocalyptic landscape consisting entirely of ruins, rubble, and remains. The skyline is permanently darkened, filled with smoky, ashen clouds that never disperse. The terrain of LOSAR is rocky, covered in a thick layer of boulders, debris, and most notably skulls. Beneath the rubble, protruding from the skull-littered, ruined terrain is a large complex of corridors, rooms, and memories of a lost population. The advanced nature of the former civilization is evident in the ruins, and numerous locked doors and rooms can be found throughout the mazes below.

THE LAND OF THORNS AND FROGS: Planet belonging to Pherae Elapha, the Maid of Space. A land out of the human fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty": At first glance it appears to be covered with dense briars, which grow in massive tangled hedges with only narrow pathways and occasional clearings between them. Every so often, the thorns grow up around a crumbling tower, one of which -- the largest -- houses the Forge. Glimpsed in those few clearings are slender saplings and delicate gardens, almost completely hidden by the thorns. The frogs themselves are all, for some reason, fast asleep...except for those few unfortunates that have been impaled by the thorns.

THE LAND OF SPIRES AND SILENCE: Planet belonging to Hirune Kysely, the Sylph of Void. It is dark here. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

THE LAND OF FIREWORKS AND HENGES: Planet belonging to Durian Agripa, the Seer of Rage. A world of gentle hills and meadows, occasional trees and rivers, where most of the hills are rings forming giant henges. The sky is perpetually the end of evening, dark and starry with a touch of color on the horizon. Burrowed into the sides of the henges are the villages of the consorts.

THE LAND OF ABUNDANCE AND RUIN: Planet belonging to Perrix Seiyos, the Knight of Light. LOAAR is largely a land of contradiction. The desolate remains of destroyed castles and cathedrals that litter the landscape and the vast swathes of desert between would make it seem lifeless... Except that each spot of ruins is accompanied by a lush oasis with dozens of unique types of fruit and wild game each, adjusted to life in these desolate structures as if they were always just a part of the land. The consorts of the land, small furless bears, have highly organized trade routes with one another between these ruins, but after trading the consorts suddenly turn their noses up at goods gathered by other outposts and bury everything they just received in the sand outside of the their camp. Everything grows and reproduces in these pockets of prosperity, however, that such routine waste is practically necessary to prevent overpopulation. It is also worth noting that with the exception of the consorts, everything in LOAAR is gigantic, blown up to double the size it should normally be - trees, fruit, the ruins, animals, imps, and even the planet itself.

THE LAND OF EBONY AND CATHEDRALS: Planet belonging to Zirreh Reevas, the Bard of Breath. Darkness is something found easily in this land as light is hard to come by. Everything from the ground to the mountains and cliffs is made of smooth black rock, massive cathedrals litter the land in seemingly random locations. Each one has catacombs of danger and treasure underneath for anyone brave enough to go into their depths and find the wind tunnels deep below that connect them all for "easy" access. That is, if it weren't for the fact that the main entrances to the tunnels are blocked and making it hard for the planet to breathe. To compensate for this in the few areas where there's access to the wind tunnels there's powerful deadly winds that destroyed a lot of the consorts homes in the canyons. This makes some of the cliffs very deadly as its easy to get blown off onto the unforgiving rocks far below. The consorts themselves are overly friendly and excited BLACK SPIDERS. Their cities and colonies are massive webs either inside the cathedrals or between sheer cliffs. They've even been nice enough to make nets in some places to catch any poor victim who might be swept away by the winds. But then you'll be stuck in a spider web, but they'll be helpful enough to let you out right? So long as you don't look like you'd make a good meal at least. And with them blending into the color of the planet, you could be surrounded before you even had a moment to wonder if that wall just moved. But don't worry, they only want to swarm you to say hello. Most of the time. Oh, and if you see a pleasant looking mist floating by? Best to avoid that as it's most likely the remains of a long destroyed colony web. Have fun getting it off.

THE LAND OF BONE AND IDOLS: Planet belonging to Inanna Vinars, the Witch of Blood.

THE LAND OF TEMPLES AND CROSSROADS: Planet belonging to Kalfour Samedi, the Prince of Heart. The Land of Temples and Crossroads is a vast, unending desert. It has always been this way. However, it has not always been the desolate wasteland that it is now. Between the cities and towns that dot the landscape, there's nothing but dry ground, sand dunes and wind, the very occasional bare black tree clawing desperately out of the ground. Nothing lives in these interim spaces making travel nearly impossible. Even the numerous old roads that cross over each other again and again break apart or are buried eventually so that none of the cities are connected. These now isolated cities are inhabited by large horny toads. They are cautious and abrasive, rarely trusting and easily startled into shooting purple blood from their eyes. The largest city lies at the center of everything with all the others sprawled out in a circle around it. Each city has a temple where a piece of a holy book resides. Because the pieces are so wide spread and separated, the consorts have forgotten their Hero and speak only of somehow appeasing their Denizen. Though the lifeless heat out in the wild has not yet fully affected these cities, it's obvious their time is limited. The brick buildings are starting to crumble. The desert fauna that still manages to thrive there has begun to die out. The consorts huddle near the centers of town while the desert steadily consumes the city around them.

PLANETS: BETA SESSION

THE LAND OF NOISE AND DROUGHT: Planet belonging to Mandya Yamini, the Sylph of Doom.

THE LAND OF ERROR AND FROGS: Planet belonging to Bharal Serala, the Mage of Space.

THE LAND OF STRINGS AND SILENCE: Planet belonging to Zurahe Cadens, the Bard of Hope.

THE LAND OF STARS AND STORMS: Planet belonging to Nikkal Cerros, the Witch of Rage. It is a lovely landscape covered in purple cliffs and blue forests; the lakes and rivers are filled with luminous waters and glowing pink crystals are scattered along the lands. Stars are visible through the planet's clouds despite them not existing in the Medium; they are a creation of the planet itself. The planet's most notable feature, however, is the seemingly endless storms - but unlike the traditional thunderstorm, infinite showers of meteors fall from the clouds, dissolving in the planet's atmostphere (so they rarely pose any threat). Lightning also strikes very frequently, in cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground varieties. As a result, while the planet may be beautiful to look at, it is also incredibly dangerous. The crystals scattered around act like lightning rods, and many of them lie in the planet's waters, making it very hazardous for the aquatic axolotl consorts.

THE LAND OF STONE AND TIDE: Planet belonging to Komesh Afonos, the Prince of Time.
